Skirts in a Row

There they waited, all in a row
With their matching skirts, yo.

The cars passed with flags on the hood
Inches from where they stood.

To the chaos of clapping hands
Came the music of marching bands.

Jugglers and dancers swayed on by
After a man walk on his hands did try.

Tumblers and balloons filled the air
While children stood in the street without a care.

The small town main street parade
Was as festive as a joy grenade.

Red, white, and blue festooned
Until the sight was almost cartooned.

I thought I'd try something poetic for my Fourth of July parade post. The girls in their skirts were inspiring. They are beyond adorable.
