Chad and I recently watched The Town. (Great movie. If you haven't already seen it...do.)
It got me thinking...
I love the romantic storyline that so often accompanies this sort of movie, but I wonder...what are they going to say to their kids when, ten years down the road and Ben's abs are no longer a 12 pack (swoon), their little darlings say, "Daddy? How did you and Mommy meet?"
Can you imagine the conversation? (Spoiler alert.)
"Well, kids. Here's the thing. I held up a bank with a group of robbers. You mommy was the bank manager. I couldn't help but notice that she had great legs. After kidnapping her and scaring her half to death, I volunteered to check to make sure she didn't remember anything. We were separated for a time while the FBI was hot on my trail, but I sure love your mother!"
Then, I started thinking of other movies...
Like...Pretty Woman.
"Mommy was a prostitute and Daddy was a successful business man with a heart of ice. She sure changed my mind when I saw her eat strawberries and watch I Love Lucy re-runs. She was such an original."
Or Ocean's Eleven...
"I loved your mother from the first time I saw her. After a brief stint in prison, I just had to see her again. What a time we had! Pulling off that robbery was pure poetry."
Am I the only one who wonders about what happens after "happily ever after"?
On a totally unrelated note...cast your peepers to the right and check out my new email subscription thingy. Basically, if you want Mandyland delivered to your inbox every day, just fill out the little form. Easy peasy and super cool.

HA!!! I paid your momma to get my rocks off, little one! Never thought of that. lol!
LOL See? They'd have to basically lie their rears off to have a half-way decent story.
It WAS really good. Chad and both agreed that it's been a while since we've seen one that was that charged.
Love The Town, Love Pretty Woman.
And for what do you tell the kids? You lie of course! HA!
I'm not a bank robber or a prostitute but my husband and I have a pretty good how mommy met daddy story. I'll have to tell you sometime...
