This happens more rarely than you'd imagine.
Mom and Dad drove the three hours over. (If you ask her, Maxine will say it took two hours and was uphill all the way. Even though we live near sea level. She's odd like that.)
Melissa made the trek from LA, ditching hipsters and clubs (and a man, or so I hear) in order to see her little loves. (The kids, not the sisters.) Note: In this picture, Joseph was thrilled, Elizabeth needed a nap and Benny had to be bribed. Not really, but it looks that way, doesn't it?
We had an amazing lunch, a fantastic visit and then, much too soon, parted ways. I wish it had been longer.
On an unrelated note, I'm guest blogging for Daria at Mom in Management today. I'm writing as part of her marriage series. Head on over and show a little Mandyland love. Pretty please?

Since I live in the high mountains of California, it is downhill, then uphill to get there and then downhill and then uphill, 3 hours exactly both ways...so for the pleasure of my company (4 hours) we drive 6 hours for a 4 hour visit. And it is just long enough for our family to visit. LOL OH and Lizzy never lost that frown the whole 4 hours, but I love that about her. She has my attitude...
