Another post that's been languishing in the recesses of my mind for the last three days...
I wanted to wait and post when I had pictures, but haven't yet received them. *hint hint Kendra and Chris* I don't want to wait any longer so I'll just add pictures when I get them. *double hint hint*
I have the most amazingly wonderful co-workers. On Tuesday, John (my boss), emailed me and said that HR wanted to meet with us to go over my maternity leave. We walked to the board room and you can imagine my surprise when I opened the door to find it festooned with pink and white and all my co-workers yelling, "Surprise!"
Side note: I'm glad that I'm only 31 weeks along. Yelling "surprise" at a pregnant woman who is further advanced would be risking instant labor.
These sweet ladies (and gentleman) thought of everything. From food (enchiladas, salads, yummy tortilla soup) to cake (which said "Welcome Gertrude, Alice, Zoey, Baby Girl, Eleanor, Penelope) to party games, they did it all. They even made a pink tiara for me to wear. (Which was a huge hit at home. Joseph thought I was a princess. I did not disabuse him of the notion.) Gertrude is now in possession of adorable outfits, snuggly pajamas and a gorgeous homemade quilt. She has her first book and her first teddy bear. And she has the first set of cards from a group of people who make it so very easy to get up early and come to work every day.
I'm truly blessed.

pictures will be there Monday - I'll bring the cord... or would you prefer to have them burned on a CD?
