One of my New Year's Resolutions was to blog daily.
HA!
Already fell flat on that one. Of course, considering it was made in a sparkly champagne haze, I think I need to be cut a little slack.
In all seriousness, if you've been wondering what I've been doing, well, the answer is writing. Just not here. I'm working my tail off trying to get a clean-ish copy of my NaNoWriMo piece done so I can get it to some beta readers who will tell me if my plot even makes sense.
I've also been writing at Momtastic and popping up on occasion at Write on Edge.
Still, this year marks my tenth blogiversary. That's right. I've been blogging for ten years and have only very rarely missed a week. I really want some sort of medal or award, but I can't seem to find one.
I've documented a decade of my life. A decade.
I read back to some of my first posts, cringing and smiling in turn at how carefree and, well, silly I was. There was drama that wouldn't even touch the scale of what I consider drama now. There were friends dancing across the page who I can't believe I've lost touch with. I documented every emotion of trying to get pregnant, every tear from my miscarriage, every minute detail of my pregnancy with Joseph.
There's so much and I can't believe how much has changed. But I do know I have no plans of stopping any time soon, even if I do take some time off to work on my novel or other sites.
In the meantime, I really am working on a few New Year's "goals" rather than resolutions. One of which is to catch up on documenting life, something that seems to be getting far too busy lately. There have been trips to Disneyland and San Francisco, hiking, and chicken coop building. There's been bread baking, hard cider making, and limoncello sipping.
And I can't wait to share it all with you.
Happy New Year - belated.
