Hello Again

You might have noticed, but I took a bit of a break. (If you didn't, just pretend you did so my fagile ego remains intact.)

After the manic pace of NaNoWriMo, I needed week off from writing and spent doing this thing called living. I played with the kids, went to Disneyland with Joseph, worked in my garden, did a little sewing, read a few books, and talked to some friends whom I had ignored horribly. I came out of my writing hiatus wanting another two or three weeks but, at the same time, missing it. Missing it and feeling slightly empty at the lack.

So I’m back. (And unintentionally rhyming.)

There’s so much to share. Some of it going all the way back to September when I flew to Boston to visit my dear friend Cam and other being much more recent like the aforementioned trip to Disneyland where Joseph and I were completely irresponsible and ate churros for lunch.

I have 77 posts in my draft folder. That’s 77 ideas, updates, and thoughts that haven’t gotten to the completed stage. My goal is to get there before the end of the year so I can start my New Year fresh. Don’t worry. I won’t post all 77 draft posts. Some need to be deleted. Especially since they only say things like, “Sewing a button on a shirt shouldn’t be so emotionally trying.” Because while it’s a great opening line, I have no idea what I was talking about.

Also, I’m resolving to be better about responding to comments because every time I get one, I do a little happy dance and think to myself, I need to respond! As soon as I get home and log into Google Chrome and remember my Disqus password and which post it was that elicited a comment.

And then I go home and pick up the kids and Elizabeth is hungry, Joseph has homework, the chickens are beginning to resort to cannibalism because I forgot to feed them in the morning, the fish are gasping for air in their dirty little bowl, and I have a deadline approaching for a site that allows me to pay my credit card bills each month.

But I’m going to do better.

Promise. Ish.

So that’s where I am. How have YOU been?

True story: Today I sewed a button on a pair of pants. That's what I've been doing :) xo

Mandy - I barely ever know what day it is . . . nevermind what the heck is going on in my life.

But now I'm thinking about churros for lunch, and how I want them, so that's what I'm doing.

I'm trying to get back to writing. It isn't working well. I blame the lack of a "u" key on my laptop.
