Kindergarten Love Square

"So how's your girlfriend?"

"Maa-maa," Joseph said in exasperation.

"What?" I asked innocently.

He sighed in the back seat. "She's actually badder than she was."

"What do you mean?"

"She stole my friend Curtis. Now he wants to read books with her and play with her."

"Maybe she wants to be his girlfriend now."

"Probably," he said, without concern. "She has a lot of boyfriends."

"Really?"

"She has three boyfriends."

"Three?"

"Uh-huh. Me, Ricky, and now Curtis. Ricky was her first boyfriend. But he started running faster and was able to lose her. She's scary."

"Maybe you should run faster."

"I try! But she's really fast. And now she's doing something worse."

"What's that?"

"She's handing out kisses!"

"Oh no!"

"Yes!"

"What do you do?"

"I tell her I don't want her to kiss or hug me but she says she's my girlfriend."

"What happens then?"

"She closes her eyes and puts her arms out and tries to kiss me again! It's like she's a zombie!"

"That's crazy, Joseph!"

He sighed, looking out the window. "I think Curtis wants to be her boyfriend."

"Are you cool with that?"

"I think he's making a big mistake. She's not very clever."

"She sounds clever to me."

"No. All the boys like her because she wears pretty clothes, I guess. That's not clever. That's silly."

"Oh."

"No. I think I'll just have to run faster or learn to hide better. Or maybe write her a note. Because she doesn't listen to my words."

"I'm sure you'll figure it out, baby."

"Girls are not fun."

Amen, love. Amen.

Run as fast as you can, Joseph!  :-)

I was totally Curtis in school . . . when all of the boys were running & hiding from the girls, I'd let them catch up to me.

But when kisses were given out, I was never on the receiving end :-(

Laugh!

This makes me super proud of Joseph's clarity, and somewhat inclined to keep Felix at home FOREVER.

He is. I didn't think I'd be able to keep from laughing, but his little face was so serious as he explained his "girl" troubles.

I love that he didn't think pretty clothes were clever. lol

Let's just hope he keeps the clarity!

Oh no! That's so sad. :(

It could be worse, they could have kissed you and turned you into a zombie too.
