What could be more summery?
It started with the invites...
I made cake pops. That is a post in and of itself. Suffice to say, my friend Morgan is a total liar. (Sorry, hon. You are. But I still love you.) They are not easy. I started off with enough materials to make 32. I ended up with twelve kind of okay looking but not really great cake pops.
What did turn out beautifully were the dishes of candy. Mostly because all I had to do was open a bag and dump them in. That's my kind of party prep.
The birthday girl was finally starting to get the whole present thing when the party came to a screeching halt.
She got a new baby.
After carefully letting someone else hold the baby, it was on to more presents and then cake.
Please note my superior frosting skills. Also, please note my sarcasm. I just can't figure out how people learn to frost a cupcake. Mine ended up looking like a three-year-old went on a frosting rampage. And then put four sprinkles on top.
But she didn't care. She blew out her candles and gave us all a grin.
After giving the kids buckets - yes, buckets - to fill with cookies and candy, we headed home. Tired and filled with sugar.
I'd say that's the definition of a successful birthday party.

Oh, that sounds like the absolute definition of perfect birthday party! And, I'm not man-enough to even attempt a cake pop.
To frost a cupcake, I use a frosting bag (or large ziplock would work and just cut the corner off, fill and frost in swirls to cover the top. Sounds like a tasty and fun birthday!
Woman, why are you not doing kid's birthday parties for millions of dollars? So cute! And themed. Crikey.
I'll make your cake pops and frost your cupcakes, and we'll be zillionaires and get a show on HGTV ;)
I wouldn't care what the frosting looked like, either. All about taste my friend! Your cake pops look good! The whole party does!
Awww...this looks like a ton of fun and just the kind of wonderful, over-indulgent time that a kid's birthday should be!
Seriously how CUTE is she???? And those invitations and the candy jars....gorgeous! Plus I love cupcakes I don't care how u frost them....and everything looked perfect for her perfect day....
Why aren't you doing party planning professionally? You should totally be in the hospitality industry!
And could she be any more adorable!
I would have loved that party. Mainly because I'm addicted to sugar.
How cute is your baby girl??
