Crossing the Border

Joseph discovered, to his delight, that his friend Hunter goes to the same school as he does.

Joseph and Hunter were inseparable in preschool, constantly talking about all things Lego and Star Wars. Because that's what little boys are really made of.

We didn't see Hunter's name on his class list, but kept our fingers crossed that they'd be at the same school. Sure enough, we saw his parents walking away just in front of us. But, while Hunter is at the same school and in the afternoon class, he's in the other Kindergarten class.

This could be a deal breaker. After all, it's difficult for a friendship to survive being in separate classrooms.

Joseph told us he and Hunter figured out how to work it out.

When the bell rang for recess to be over, Hunter very quietly made his way to Joseph's class line. Joseph said he let Hunter stand in front of him and both boys stayed very still so as not to draw attention to the class jumper.

Sadly for the five-year-olds, you have to get up pretty early in the morning to pull one over on a teacher. And these kindergarten teachers, with a combined total of 63 students, had a few tricks up their sleeves. Including color coded name tags.

Poor Hunter was pulled out of line and gently redirected back to his own classroom.

Foiled!

63 kids! In 2 classes! Wow.

But aren't you proud of their little scheming?

Oh my goodness! There's over thirty kids in a Kindergarten class?!?!?!!! W.O.W.

Cute story! And even cuter that it was all in the name of friendship! :>

Aww! Aside from the color coded name tags I would think that two super quiet boys that age would have given it away! It was an awesome try though.

It's crazy. I don't know how the teacher does it.
