I've come to the conclusion that Twitter is bad for my budget.
Case in point...
Yesterday, I was at Kohl's buying very boring, very practical items. Things like towels and school clothes. As I was walking past the shoe section, a pair of gorgeous, impossibly high heeled, coral ruffled, suede bits of torture drew me like a moth to flame. Like a bee to honey. Like a man to bacon.
And they were on sale.
I picked it up with nothing short of shoe lust. I tried it on and realized...
I haven't worn a stiletto in years.
Since before Joseph.
I wobbled like a new colt for the first few steps towards a mirror. I looked at my legs, impossibly long and slim. I looked at the way the ruffle twisted and teased around my ankle. I bit my lip and thought hard.
They're not practical.
They're not comfortable.
I'm liable to break my ankle walking in them.
But oh how I wanted them!
So, I turned to Twitter to talk me out of my shoe lust.
Could someone remind me I don't need these shoes. Even if they're on sale?
I should have known better. Instantly, my twitter stream filled with encouragement to buy them.
Resisting, I went home, sat in front of my computer and saw even more encouragement to buy them.
It was too much!
High on shoe lust and fed by tweets, I drove back to the store, ran to the register and came home with them.
Even though they're not practical.
Even though they're not comfortable.
Even though I'm liable to break my ankle walking in them.

I'm not going to help. They are so, so stinking cute.
They're GORGEOUS!!! Enjoy them.
Yeah, I can't trust tweeps with my purchasing decisions. Although I might be better dressed if I did...
Gooooorgeous! Had I been around at the time, I would have encouraged you too! :)
But your ankle will look really good... before it breaks! Sometimes we all need something fun and not practical!
Fortuitous that the rose necklace picture is up, too... It would look great with those shoes.
Which are HAWT.
Those shoes would probably kill us, but we're so happy you bought them, yea for an impractical moment!
ummm.
want ME to remind you of my past 6 months in "da boot" & rehab for my Jones Fracture (5th metatarsal)... take those shoes back right now! otherwise, when you break your foot, I'll be forced to adopt your kids (which would be kind of fun - BUT, just for the period that you would be off your feet)...BTW - I still walk with a limp, after 11 sessions of physical therapy & my balance really "sucks"...
Oh. MY. GAWD. Oh my, I can't even talk I love those shoes so much. They were SOOOOOOO worth the cost, wow they are Fantastic. Put them on, take a picture, please!!!!!good for you Mandy, they are SWWWEEETTTTT!!!
xo
See?!?! THIS is why you need to get on Twitter!!
But at least your feet would look pretty. lol
Oooo! I didn't think of that combo. Brilliant! Now I just need to drop another 30 lbs so I can find a cute little dress that fits The Girls. :)
That's what I was thinking too.
See? Such bad influences. :D
I'm starting to realize that tweeps are not the most practical when it comes to shopping. In fact, they may be enablers.
I like the way you think!
If I can figure out what to wear them with, I will!
I know, right? ADORABLE.
If you don't want them, I know someone who'd be more than happy to take those sexy babies off your hand. *ahem* *cough* *cough*
John says those shoes definitely qualify you as a Cinderella. Don't lose one unless you want to find Prince Charming!

Ooops! Would you look at that? I just lost one. ;)
NO! They're minemineminemine.
Oh geez. I've been spending too much time with Elizabeth.
on my list of "101 Things in 1001 Days", I had "buy a pair of shoes just because I like them". I never did do that..and probably won't until after baby arrives. I'm too practical. But it will stay on the list, because I think it's good to do something sometimes just because it makes you happy. Whether it's shoes or more intangible items. Love the shoes!
