Opening Day

Wednesday was the opening day of the fair.

And like every year, we devoured garlic fries and cotton candy. We guzzled pink lemonade. We tramped through the sawdust covered midway smelling hot dogs, motor oil and peanuts. The heat sucked the energy out of our bodies, leaving us sticky and limp. We came home to feet and legs so dirty, we had to scrub our bodies twice.

It was an amazing opening day.

I'm so tired that I can't even think of another word to write. So I'm going to just leave you with a few pictures. After all, aren't they worth a few thousand words?

Pictures are worth a thousand words.  These are great.  Looks (and sounds) like you had a great day.  Glad it was a good time.

There's just a coolness about going to a fair...

So fun! I remember those days as a kid when you're so dirty you need to wash twice, and so tired you're asleep before your head hits the pillow.  But those were the best days. :)

it looks like you had a fantastic opening day!!! I love cotton candy and pierogies (hey I'm polish and from Pennsylvania) at our fairs...they make it worth going.

the pictures made me smile, those kiddos are just adorable. :)

Looks like loads of fun!  A day at the Fair can wipe you out though.  We're looking forward to heading there in another week or so when ours is up and running.  Great pics, Mandy! :>

Great post, great pictures. Your descriptions are awesome! :) Glad you had fun. My gauge for how much fun we have is how many times we have to scrub, haha! Glad you had a two-scrub day!
