For those of my readers who are not bloggers, BlogHer is like the Comic-Con of blogging.
For those of my readers who don't know what Comic-Con is...I'm just in awe that you actually read someone as nerdy as me.
This year, BlogHer is being held in San Diego, a mere hop, skip, jump and stuck in traffic for three hours after being on the road for an additional three while drinking a jumbo diet Coke and realizing there are no restrooms conveniently located on the freeway away from me.
But, a week from today, someone is turning two.
Which means that I'm not going to BlogHer.
But most of my bloggy friends are.
Since I still wanted to meet them, I decided to send someone in my stead.
Her name is Flat Mandy.
Go ahead. I know you want to say it. This is the first time Mandy has been flat since sixth grade. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Moving onwards...
Please note her color appropriate outfit, her bling, her bump-it inspired 'do and, of course, the fact that her face is apparently the same color as the "nearly white" marker.
She's on the road to Yuliya right now. I'm sure she's going to drink a few vodkas, gag over the fur coat and probably chow down on some amazing food. Yuliya has been kind enough to transport Flat Mandy to San Diego where she'll listen, learn, dance, drink, meet, greet, and, maybe, get passed around like a two bit blogger.
You thought I was going to say something else, didn't you?
I'm looking forward to hearing of Flat Mandy's adventures. You can be sure I'll be sharing them. And if you're one of my readers who happens to be a blogger and happens to be going to BlogHer, go, find Flat Mandy. Give her a big fat kiss and buy her a drink. Just keep her away from the whiteout. Totally messes her up.
I wonder what kind of trouble that girl is going to get into.
And just so that you don't all start gushing at my genius, this is not an original idea. There will be many Flat Bloggers at BlogHer.
I take it back. I invented the whole concept. Everyone else is copying my great idea. You may now gush.

I'd buy Flat Mandy a drink, but since I'm not going to BlogHer and we live that same distance apart in the opposite direction, I think I'll just wait until the someday that we meet in real life. Genius! I'm gushing. Another reason, I wish I could be at BlogHer - to meet the Flat You (though meeting the actual You is probably a thousand times better).
I'm in your same boat - cool bloggy friends going to BlogHer...me, not going. However, lacking the genius or craftiness or energy to create a Flat Me to send along.

I don't know, Flat Me is pretty darn cool. Real Me is far more awkward and prone to inserting her foot into her mouth.
