It's Late Enough

About a year ago, I saw an ad on my local moms board requesting guest posts on their national forum. A little nervous - I wasn't sure what the guest posting thing was all about - I sent one. They accepted it and I started stalking their site, waiting for my post to show up.

While there, I found someone so funny, she made me snort. She writes about tough topics and zombies. She has genius children and makes "interesting" small talk.

She was also my first non-friend or family member to comment on my blog. She opened a whole world of blogging to me. A world that I was only vaguely aware existed.

I'm so happy and proud to call her my friend. It's obvious to me why she lives on the East Coast. If she was on the West Coast, California would split off because of the sheer awesomeness.

I hope you enjoy Alex of Late Enough as much as I do.

A Late Enough Garden In Mandyland
Mandy and I are sharing a garden! I mean, we live on opposite coasts, BUT we both have seeds from the SAME SEED PACKETS. We’re weird like that.

So I’m positive our gardens will look EXACTLY THE SAME.  Except she mapped hers out in perfect squares, and I forgot to even label what seeds we planted where.

Instead I took pictures and labeled them and am now hoping that Mandy will relabel them. It’s like a MEMORY game, but I desperately want Mandy to win. And provide lunch.

Tiny lettuce that has no chance of getting bigger because I don't have the heart to thin out the seedlings.

Definitely beans! High-five!

These are either cucumbers or weeds. And two dead watermelons. Yum?

I'm calling these tomatoes. Until something else grows on them.

One lone cilantro. :(
Maybe next year, Mandy will take pity on me and send food instead of seeds for me to kill and maim.

I had no idea that I was your first non-friend/family commenter! That's amazing! Score for me finding such awesomeness.

You're the first person that I ever thought: How can I meet her in person? How can I come up with an excuse to Skype with her? Heehee!

How does your garden have two dead watermelons and STILL look better than mine?

Mandy - save us all!

Wow. Her garden is much like mine would be if I wasn't so lazy and actually planted one. :)

This is a great idea! I probably would forget to label too!
