Brita Vodka

Of all the things I've learned from my moms' forum, one of the most interestingly useful pieces of information has been this:
You can filter cheap vodka through a Brita a few times and end up with vodka that tastes as good as top shelf.
Where were these women when I was in my early 20's?!

And, before you ask, no, I'm not drinking a gallon of vodka.  It's for my first Christmas gift craft project.

Ohhh...you're intrigued.

And a bit sick to your stomach.

Hate to burst your bubble, but... (and well, I'd really hate to burst your bubble butt)... a bottle of cheap vodka plus a Brita filter will cost you more than a bottle of vodka of the quality you'll produce by filtering. Apparently filtering makes a difference, but not enough to justify wasting a water filter on it:

Zannie - NOOOOOOO! Are you serious?? The only good thing is that I already have a Costco size pack of filters so I didn't actually have to go out and buy any for this particular purpose.

I'm so disillusioned.
