Perfection is so difficult to find. But then...
Joseph and I sat in the front yard, seeds, trowels, planters and dirt scattered around us. My bare feet, flecked with mud and dirt, rested in the grass as I looked at my neat row of potential seedlings. The sun gently heated the tops of our bare heads and a soft breeze whispered below the sound of passing cars. An ant crawled across my leg, escaping the spreading puddle of water Joseph had created.
My hat rested before me, upside down and filled with bright green pea pods. I patiently exposed the peas in their pods, watching my green tipped fingers pull at the "zipper". Joseph crouched next to me, his shirt and shorts drenched. As I opened each pod, he reached for the tiny green peas. His little fingers working quickly, he stripped the pod clean. As he munched on the peas, he fed me the pods.
And I sat there, soaking it all in and realized....this is it. This is a perfect moment.
