Batter Up!

Monday was Joseph first tee ball game.

It was fabulous.

I laughed so hard, my cheeks hurt.  Joseph gets the concept of fielding about as much as Elizabeth does.  Which means that he spend his time in the field following the chalk pitcher's circle around and around, throwing dirt at a team mate, staring into space and chasing the ball along with 3/4 of the team.

And when they were at bat!  Now that, my dear readers, was a hoot.  At one point there were three players on second base:  Joseph running from first base, the little boy from third base and the little boy who decided that he wanted to stay on second.

We laughed, cheers and yelled encouragement like, "RUN, JOE, RUN!!  NO! JOE!  THE OTHER WAY!!"  The kids had a blast and, with the exception of two parents who kept yelling at their children to "keep your eyes on the ball" and "stand up and get out of the dirt" and "focus!", the adults had a great time too.  (Obviously, I'm of the "don't take it too seriously" mindset.)

It's going to be a fun couple of months watching these little players learn the sport.
