I have found the best gardening tool ever. Really.
I picked this sucker up at OSH last weekend and it has made gardening so much easier. I realize that it's a bulb planter. I realize that I'm not planting bulbs. But, the hidden secret to this guy is that the holes it creates are just the right size for a plant out of a six pack or, with a little wiggling, a 4" pot.
Brilliant.

I don't get it.
I'm not saying it's not the best tool ever--I've never used one, for its intended purpose or otherwise. But what's the advantage over just using your hands or a trowel? Is it just if you're doing a lot of it it's faster to use the tool? Perhaps my garden is just too small for me to have a need for it.
It's way, way quicker. Basically, you just wiggle and twist a bit, pull up and you're left with a perfect circle, the exact depth you need. I was able to whip out all my holes, look to see if everything lined up and then plop my plants in.
