In the past two weeks, we've learned a few things about parenting more than one child at a time.
1. Big brothers, even the very best big brothers, wait until you're nursing their baby sister before doing things like scratching the coffee table with a screw. How he got his hands on said screw is still a mystery.
2. Newborn baby girls wait until you're tucking their big brother in bed and trying to have a little Mommy/Son time before waking up starving.
3. Very smart little boys figure out very quickly that when you're nursing little sister and Nana is in the shower and Daddy is at work, you can't chase after him when he misbehaves.
4. Children have no concept of personal space which is why when I'm nursing I often see two heads inches from each other.
5. It's great that baby sister sleeps until 7:30 or 8:00 every morning, but when big brother wakes up at 6:00, mornings can be rough.
6. Big brothers can be big helps...especially when you forget a burp cloth or the Boppy in another room.
7. Little sister smells so sweet and so yummy that I really can't blame big brother for wanting to nibble on her hands and toes. Thankfully, he knows better than to use his teeth!
8. Big brothers are bouncy. Little sisters are fragile. The combo of the two of them on the couch for a photo session is not good. I repeat. Not. Good.
9. Time goes quickly with one child. Time goes even more quickly with two. There are days that feel like we just got Joseph dressed and then it's bath time.
10. Twice the children equals twice the love.
