We recently watched Marley and Me. Cute movie. Especially for anyone who has ever owned a dog. I could totally sympathize with Jen when she finally got the baby to sleep only to have the dog bark and wake him up. (There are a lot of other similarities, but we'll stick with this one for the moment.) At that point, she's ready to get rid of Marley. (Not really, but she says she is.)
I'm ready to get rid of Maggie Dog.
Side note: Shut up, Mom. You know I'd never do that, but this is one of those instances where it's very tempting.
I bought very nice, very expensive organic vegetable food for my poor little plants. It's made with blood meal and bone meal. A combo with a scent that nearly sent this pregnant woman over the edge which is why...Chad spread it around the plants that needed a bit of help last night.
This morning, after Mags went out, she came in with a dirty nose. Not thinking much of it, we went on our way about our day.
When I went to water this afternoon I discovered my plants nearly dug to the roots and leaning sideways.
Our wonderful dog had eaten, eaten the bone/blood meal. (Excuse me a moment while I gag.) The poor tomatoes will be lucky if the survive. I spread new soil around them, piling it up high. *fingers crossed*

not sure how "organic" you're trying to keep your garden, but the best fertilizer I've ever found for tomatoes are the Jobes Tomato Stakes (I actually used them in a science project in jr. high - won the blue ribbon in the life science division too). They don't smell, only need to go into the ground every few weeks or so, and you don't have to worry about the dog eating them!
