The Dentist

Last Wednesday (as in May 20 - yes, I'm that far behind) was a milestone. It was Joseph's first dentist appointment. I was so proud of my little bug. He hopped right into the chair, grinning wide while he waited. He got to pick out a new toothbrush - a decision that took the better part of five minutes as he pondered over each brush with their various colors and decals. The child doesn't know the meaning of quick decisions.

While I got my teeth cleaned, he watched a movie about an alligator named Kiki who had to visit the dentist. By the time it was his turn, he was excited to "open his mouth like an alligator". Then Dr. V walked in with his crazy glasses and mask. Joseph was a little apprehensive, so Chad sat with him for the rest of the appointment.

He did such a good job. He got his teeth counted (20!) and was told what a great job he did brushing his teeth. Afterwards they gave him a lollipop. Yes. You read correctly. A lollipop. Apparently it's a new brand that actually prevents cavities. Go figure.
