Catching up...

Last week was a busy one. Nicole and the kids came up after our trip to Monterey to spend Sophia's spring break with Boppa and G. This, of course, was cause for continued Cousin Craziness and a Cousinly Easter Egg Hunt.

On Wednesday, G hid eggs all over the yard for the kids to search out. For about fifteen minutes, the kids tore across the grass searching for eggs and chocolate bunnies. (Please disregard Joseph's very un-Easterlike outfit. Daddy dressed him for a day of logging.)

Then, on Thursday night, Melissa and her friend Ryan came up to visit. We hung out with them briefly on Friday and, while they went wine tasting, we stayed home like old fogies and worked in the garden.

On a gardening note, some one needs to stop me. Seriously. If anyone sees me walking into OSH, they are to tackle me (gently! I'm pregnant!) and take me immediately to a GA (Garden-aholics Anonymous) meeting. This is getting to be a bit mad. Do you see what I've done now???

I know. I know. I swore after last year's upside down fiasco, I wouldn't try it again. Then came a quiet afternoon a couple weeks ago when, while flipping through channels, Chad and I became engrossed in a Topsy Turvy infomercial. You know we have it bad when Chad - my sane, logical husband - says, "Maybe we should give one of those a try." No. We didn't order it over the phone. No. We didn't order it online. Fate gave us an excuse when I nearly tripped over a box laying in an aisle at Wally World. It was kismet! Serendipity!

While these don't look nearly as Martha as my coconut baskets, which were actually purchased from Martha Stewart's Living line, they may actually keep my plants alive. I planted yet another tomato in one and a red bell pepper in another. Before you think I've completely lost control, I'll have you know that each container could actually handle TWO plants, but I resisted.

Oh. And the little guy up above? Watermelon. It was just sitting there in the gardening section of OSH. So cute and adorable, bearing the name "Sugar Baby". Who wouldn't be tempted?

Seriously...it's becoming an addiction. I'm almost afraid to categorize what we having going on. Chad called the other day and said, disbelief in his voice, "Did you know we have strawberries?! When did we get strawberries??" I tried to convince him the Garden Gnome has been busy, but he wasn't buying it.

This is getting to be a long post, so I'll just say...to be continued.
