A couple of weeks ago Chad accidentally ran the garbage disposal with a dish cloth down the drain. Ever since, it hasn't worked. As in, the motor doesn't even run.I've been on him like white on rice to fix it. (I don't know why I thought he'd do it...wishful thinking?) I even talked to his dad who said he'd try to remember to look at it the next time he came over. In the meantime, I've been irritated that I don't have a disposal.
After bunco last night - during which some of the ladies put their lemons and scraps down the disposal before I could warn them not to - I had a huge mess to clean up. I decided enough was enough and that we were going to buy a new one, thinking they can't be THAT expensive. I did a quick search and found out that they run between $100 and $200 - money I don't want to spend right now.
Sooooo...I did ANOTHER search and found an awesome home improvement website that had a garbage disposal troubleshooting guide. Yep. You guess it. I fixed our disposal. And all it took was pressing a little red button on the bottom of the unit. From now on, I'm turning to my faithful internet immediately.
