Blogging from Fresno

I drove up to Fresno last night to attend Michelle's baby shower. (That's your shout-out, Michelle.) What makes this trip unique is that I drove over sans Chad and Joseph. That's right folks! I'm a single woman for the moment.

I'll blog more about the shower (complete with pictures) at a later date. First I have to show off some pictures I took of the Loucks family for their Christmas card. I was so excited to have the opportunity to photograph them. I think the pictures turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.

These three are seriously photogenic. I had so much fun using up the space on their memory cards. If I'd had my druthers, I would have taken another 200 shots, but Lane decided a half hour was more than enough time, thank you very much.

We had a lot of fun in the front yard. KT (the Kitty) wandered over to see what all the fuss was about and tried to join in. (Little did we know that the sunny morning would turn into a rainy evening. Good think we risked the high light exposure.)

I love this picture of Danielle and Lane. Their smile is so similar.

The idea for the last two shots came from a series of pictures Rachel had taken last year. I really like the idea of focusing on Lane - after all, he's now the center of their world - but showing Adam and Danielle together in the background, totally engrossed in each other. (Don't I sound like an art critic?) Lane cooperated beautifully, glancing back at his parents and then forward to the more interesting topic of his wooden train.

Overall, I thought they turned out pretty darn amazing.
