On Friday, we met Rachel and Benny at the Barn. Avila Barn in the autumn is alive with vibrant colors, piles of pumpkins and a hay maze that, if you don't have a claustrophobic panic attack, sends you on a confusing path of sweetly scented deadends and dizzying twists.
Nana spoiled the boys with hobby horses that they "rode" all over the barn. Rachel and I rushed after them, trying to prevent breakage and mayhem. We followed shopping with feeding the animals and picnicing on fresh fruit, bread and cheese.
After lunch, the boys played in the hay. They jumped off bales into great golden piles of loose hay. They picked up handfuls and threw them at each other. They rolled and giggled and slipped and slid around. After we brushed them off, we wandered in to the hay maze.
I took so many pictures, I had to do a slide show. Enjoy a little taste of autumn.
