I'm not going to get political. I'm not. I'm not. I promised myself that I would avoid potential ulcers and make Mandyland a utopia of internet political neutrality.
That being said...here's a great website that list where the candidates stand on various issues. It seems very nonpartisan, basically using quotes and voting records.
Now for my mini soap box. I swear this will be short.
My greatest concern with the election is party line voters. Don't vote for someone just because they're in your party. Look at how they vote and where they stand and then compare that to how you feel and what issues you're facing. In my voting life, I've voted for Republicans and Democrats. I've even "thrown away" my vote on a third party candidate. Each time I've voted, I really felt that my decision reflected where I am in my life and what items were of importance to me at that time. At this point in my life, I feel that the biggest challenges I face as a woman and a mother are family leave, education and health care so those are the main "issues" I'm following.
Hmmm...should I say something more? No...I'll stay quiet. At least on here. In real life, I'm afraid my friends, family, co-workers and the grocery clerk have all had to listen as I opine.
