Pancake Breakfast

On Thursday we loaded up Kaleb (who was hanging out for the morning) and Joseph and headed to the Downtown City Park for a Pancake Breakfast. We met Ken and Rita and joined the line snaking in front of Santa's winter residence and past the water fountain. The smell of pancakes on a hot griddle filled the air while the voices of over a hundred people talking over coffee buzzed in the early morning sunshine. We piled our plates with pancakes, eggs and sausage. Walking between crowded tables, we found a spot to sit and enjoy.

Like Concerts in the Park, this is one of the little things that makes me appreciate our small town. (And one of the little things that makes me appreciate not working in the summer.)
