It's my birthday and I plan on doing absolutely nothing that requires planning today. I took the day off, it's 9:30 and I'm just now posting, and I am going to eventually wander to a local coffee shop for a pot of tea and a good book in the sunshine.
Wonderful day.

When I was 5 or 6, the party hats were Kermit the Frog ones: green cones with Kermit heads and according folded, sproingy arms and legs hanging off them. I still wish I could find something like them today!

My favorite birthday memory: I went out to dinner with my husband and friends and at the end of the evening, we just happened upon a giant fireworks show. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day.

I was going through a doom and gloom stage for my 16th birthday. I was feeling like I didn't have any friends to celebrate with and said I didn't want to do anything to celebrate. So my mom decided to throw me a surprise party. She told me we were going to a friend's cabin for the weekend. An hour or so into the drive, we pulled over for a bathroom break.
A whole bunch of my friends appeared in their swimsuits, prepared to go tubing down the nearby river. I was SO HURT that they all made plans to go tubing without me. It wasn't until a few moments later, when my mom started unpacking supplies in the car that I realized it was a surprise party for me.
I'm a day late, but I'm having some German chocolate cake in honor of your birthday and giveaway. Thanks for giving me a reason to indulge.

My favorite birthday memory....Hmmm...well, I can't remember all of my younger birthdays but I know my parents made them each special. But more recently, I loved my 30th birthday...my sister was so creative in her gift giving and bought me 30 things (some were small....like, toothpaste!) and wrapped them all up individually for me! Such a fun idea and treat!

Susie! Please let me know if you haven't received the cups by early next week. The tracking has them hanging out in a warehouse and making me wonder if I should have sprung for faster shipping! (Also let me know if they're in any way damaged. Shipping jars is dicey.)
