Every summer, we join Chad's family for the Friends of the Fair pancake breakfast. We sit in the sunny park and eat pancakes made expertly by the Grange members while, all around us, adults chat and children run across the grass.
This year, the Fresno Crew joined us for breakfast. After devouring the morning deliciousness, Joseph joined Adam and Lane on a hay ride around the park and then ran to pet an alligator. Yes. An alligator. Apparently they're much friendlier than crocs. Personally, I had to stamp down a squeak of fear and visions of my little love losing a finger.
There's something soothing in the repeated rhythms of life. The daily, monthly, yearly events that mark the passing of time and the continuity of our lives.
