Happy Fourth! By now, you should be slicing watermelon, mixing potato salad, spreading out picnic blankets, tasting strawberry shortcake, and throwing horseshoes.
By all means, you should be outside and enjoying the beautiful day. Not sitting at your computer and checking to see what Mandyland has in store for you.
But just in case you are in a part of the country where it's raining or it's actually the end of your day, I thought I'd post a little July 4th Trivia Game. I'm going to do this Super Quiz style. I'll start off with a few easy ones and get progressively more difficult. Let me know how you did.
And no cheating. Don't Google the answers.
Nice and easy...
1. Who do historians believe sewed the first official American flag?
2. Who wrote the words to the Star Spangled Banner?
3. How many stars were on the first American flag?
Getting a little tougher...
4. Who was the first person to sign the Declaration of Independence?
5. What does flying the flag upside down symbolize?
6. Which two founding fathers died on July 4, 1826?
Whew! This is seriously tough...
7. What day did last person sign the Declaration of Independence?
8. What is the name of the oldest commissioned US Naval vessel?
9. Where was the first Continental Congress held?
And finally, bonus question, courtesy Chad:
What New York Yankee threw a no hitter on July 4, 1983?
Answers:
1. Betsy Ross 2. Francis Scott Key 3. 13 4. John Hancock 5. Distress and harm falling on you and/or your possessions. 6. Thomas Jefferson and John Adams 7. August 2, 1776 8. The Constitution 9. Philadelphia Bonus: Dave Righetti
Give yourself one point for every right answer. Five points if you got the bonus question because that was practically impossible.
Have an awesome Fourth!
