We had a Day of Rest on Saturday. A much-needed day of rest. Then, Christmas Part II swept into gear.
We went to Chad's parents' where we met up with the Sac Town Clan. (Seriously need to find an Italian word for "clan". Maffia? Mob? Anyone?) Friday seemed like a dress rehearsal compared to the present madness at Boppa and G's house. Paper flew. Tissue paper littered the living room floor. Chaos, wonderful chaos reigned.
Every now and then, Matt swooped through the room dividing up the tissue paper (recyclable) and the wrapping paper (not) and folding gift bags to be used at future Christmas celebrations.
I'm going to stop right here. My favorite, my absolute favorite part of Christmas is the laughter. At one point, I was laughing so hard my cheeks hurt. I don't remember what it was about. Maybe the story of how Joseph wanted to buy his Uncle Matt a purple sweater to match Aunt Nicole's. Or maybe it was one of Matt's hilarious stories. All I know is that what I remember most was the laughter.
When the gifts were finally all opened, we took a time-out while the adults tried to unwind nearly seven thousand wire toys attachments and the kids waited impatiently. We ate dinner, did dishes and loaded the car. Christmas was over for yet another year.
