Before I can get to Wedding Madness, I desperately need to post a bit on how we spent our Fourth of July.
Besides the obvious Mandy's Fourth of July Impossible Trivia Game on which Chad scored an impressive 80%, we spent most of the early afternoon chilling, waiting for Joseph to wake up so we could head to BSP for Food Madness and Fireworks.
We arrived in the late afternoon, wearing our red, white and blue. (Or, in my case, my blue, blue and blue. My maternity wardrobe is sadly lacking in red and stain-free white.) The weather had cooled, the wind picked up and we sat in the sunshine feasting on grilled chicken, potato salad and pasta salad. Joseph played in the bounce house while we watched. He did ask me to join him, but seriously, The Belly bounces enough as it is. There was music playing, dancing in the grass and kids running all around with their squirt guns and kites.
After we filled our tummies, we packed up and moved our picnic up the street, setting out our chairs and eating strawberry shortcake as the sun slowly sank behind the oak covered hills.
The fireworks started with a bang and ended with an explosion of color and noise that made Joseph ask for "more!!" We were able to make it home in ten short minutes and crash into bed. It was a simple, fun Fourth of July.
