Big Bro

I still have to catch up from last week, but realized I haven't shared one of my favorite Joseph moments.

The J-man has an awful habit of jumping on my belly. To be fair he jumps on Chad's too. It's just something he likes to do. If our bellies were granite, it wouldn't be nearly as fun. But since they're soft and squishy...oh...sorry Chad. Of course your belly is granite. Rock, man. Solid rock.

Moving on...we told him shortly after I found out I was pregnant that he couldn't jump on Mommy's tummy any more. (Did you hear that sigh of relief?) He was instantly intrigued by the Baby in the Belly. He loves to look at my stomach and put his ear against it. He talks to the baby on a daily basis, the conversations going something like this:

"HI BABY!" he yells into my belly button. "Can you hear me? Is it dark in there? Are you going to answer me?" He looks up, "I hear the baby, Mommy."

He also likes to stick his fingers in my belly button to "tickle" the baby. "Is the baby laughing, Mommy?"

He calls my belly button "the door". He puts toys on my stomach and says, "Can the baby play now, Mommy?"

But by far the cutest of all is his insistence that there's a baby in his belly. "See my baby, Mommy?" he says as he lifts up his shirt. He points to his belly button, "Kiss it!! Kiss my baby!!!" I, of course, am happy to oblige.
