Sickies

There are a bunch of sickies in Mandyland.

Joseph came down with a cold last week and it's just lingering. Slight temperature at night, poor red nose, little bit of a cough and, most disturbing of all, lowered appetite.

Saturday was the worst. By mid-morning all he'd eaten since lunch the day before was a couple pretzels. For a little guy who usually powers through adult-size meals, that's nothing. I was on the phone with Nicole and she gave me a bit of great advice - Jamba Juice.

Chad went and picked up a "strawberry milkshake" complete with protein and vitamin C. Joseph drank the whole thing. He was feeling well enough by lunch to eat three scrambled eggs. His appetite is not nearly back to normal, but at least we know that we can go for a smoothie if needed.

Side note: How did we get to our ripe old age and throw so many parties and not own a blender? I could have sworn we had one. The only thing I can imagine is that it was sold at a garage sale following one of Chad's selling frenzies.

Side, side note: During garage sales, I have to keep an eye on Chad. He tends to storm through the house, taking pictures off the walls, dishes out of cupboards and holiday decorations off the tables. He sticks a 25 cent sticker on them and puts them in the pile.

Joseph's slowly making a recovery but now both Chad and I have it. But not to worry! I have my tissues in hand, tomato soup in the cupboard and concealer ready for the red nose. Chad, however, has a man cold. Poor little bunny.
