On Thursday night Rachel threw a Stroller Strides Christmas party at her house. It was so nice to see the ladies. I haven't been able to make it to a class in an embarrassingly long time. Renee flew in from Ohio. No. Not just for the party. Geesh. We're not that cool. Still, it was great seeing her.
We chatted, exchanged white elephant gifts, ate and chatted some more. Every time I'm around these women I can't help but be amazed that our class attracted such a well-rounded, like minded group of moms.
Friday night was Joseph's Preschool's party. There were so many people crammed into the tiny front room! We expected maybe a dozen kids and ten or so parents, but there were twice to three times that. The food was eclectic as only a California potluck can be. (Granted, the only other potlucks I've been to were Washington and Missouri, so I can't speak from personal experience for the other 47 states.) There was sushi, egg rolls, ham, turkey, enchiladas, sweet potatoes, pasta, and - unbelievably - wine and champagne. I honestly didn't expect alcohol.
We left after building a "gingerbread" house with Joseph. I hate to say it, but I had a horrible case of Potluck Tummy all night. I was only able to sleep after a dozen or so Tums.
Coming soon...The Dawson Family Christmas Extravaganza...
