Quick Sidetrack...

I'm going to briefly side track from my Sand Canyon Adventures because...

"Mamma Mia! Here I go again. My, my. How can I resist you?"

I went with Becky and Rachel to see "Mamma Mia" last night. Oh. My. God. Loved it!

I've been trying to get to the play for years, so I was so excited to see the movie. It was better than I anticipated. I laughed out loud, cheered, clapped and generally enjoyed myself beyond belief. I've been singing "Mamma Mia" all week in anticipation...now I'm singing and dancing along to the soundtrack, much to Joseph's enjoyment and Chad's amusement.

Points of immense fun (no spoilers):
  • Jump suits Sam singing.
  • Tanya and Rosie
  • Almost every song had a giggle-worthy moment.
  • The fact that they were very obviously having a blast making this movie.
  • Sam singing. (I know. I already said that, but I'm cracking up right now thinking of it.)
  • The Greek chorus
The critics are panning it. The highest rating I've seen is a B-. It just goes to show...the critics are jaded and don't recognize a piece of fun when they see it. I was about one song away from jumping up in my seat and dancing. The joy of the music and the cast was so infectious, I'm still smiling when I think about it. Sometimes a movie can just entertain and that's exactly what this one did.

I'm trying to talk Chad into going to see it with me again...maybe tonight.
